Description:

Poland 1962. Anna is in the novitiate as an orphan placed in a monastery under the protection of nuns. Mother Superior urges her to visit her aunt, the only living relative, before ordination. Aunt confesses to Anna that she is Jewish. They decide to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors. Together with the start of the journey, both women not only discover the tragic history of their family, but also discover who they really are and where their place is. Both try to live on, but only one succeeds. Winner of the American Film Academy award in the Best English Language Film category and also nominated in the Best Cinematography Category. Co-financed by the Lodz Film Fund in 2013.
