In “Beyond Words”, Urszula Antoniak tells us the story of a beginning lawyer Michael, living in Berlin. Michael is a Polish immigrant who, like Witold Gombrowicz, regards his emigration not as a tragedy, but rather as an opportunity. He considers himself a Berliner. Unexpectedly, his father, whom he’s thought dead, pays him a visit. Their weekend together becomes an accelerated course in defining their relationship. On Monday, after his father’s departure, Michael strives to get back to his life from before the meeting. Although it may seem nothing has changed, everything is different. The film was shot in Berlin, Warsaw and Lodz. Film co-financed by the Lodz Film Fund in 2016.
