The modern sports facility ‘Zatoka Sportu’ Academic Sports and Teaching Centre, which is located at the Łódź University of Technology, is a place where amateur, student and professional sports are all combined under one roof. It opened in September 2017.
It comprises two swimming pools: a 50-metre pool and a 25-metre pool. The longer pool is the only 50-metre indoor pool in Łódź. Where required, the 50-metre Olympic distance can be divided into two 25-metre sections by a movable platform. Over 1,700 spectators can watch competitions from the stands. The shorter pool’s most notable feature is its adjustable floor. Depending on requirements, it can be set at a depth ranging from 0 to 5 metres. The complex also comprises a climbing centre with a 17-metre climbing wall, a gym, badminton and squash courts, a table tennis area, a martial arts hall, a multi-purpose sports hall with seating for 500 people for team sports, conference rooms, and a restaurant.
