Grand Synagogue in Piotrków Trybunalski

A building of the synagogue was erected on a plan of a rectangle in 1791-1793. Flat arcs, a wide frieze covering the slope of the roof, surmounting frames, facades of the little tower accented in all corners and rhombus net which modestly refers to Arabic models add oriental character of the main facade. Original decor of interiors was destroyed during the World War II. Currently the building of the synagogue is deprived of its original function. Here is a seat of a city library. It is situated at 29 Jerozolimska Street in Piotrków Trybunalski, about 50 km from Łódź.
