The neighbors are a story about people who live next to us, but we do not notice them every day, shamefully pushing beyond the margins of our world, shaped by the media. A film about people without perspectives, no chances, stubbornly persistent in their miserable existence. People living in modern ghettos, forgotten by those in power, i.e. those who should look after them. However, this film is not as pessimistic as it might seem – it is full of humor, sometimes absurd, and most of all warm. Because these people, although often angry and mischievous, are not deprived of human feelings. Quite the opposite – as the action unfolds, we learn that these simple people have much more of these feelings than those who despise them. And that these simple people are willing to sacrifice even themselves and their lives in the name of love. And do we, so-called normal people, are we capable of this? Film co-financed by the Lodz Film Fund in 2013.
