Description:
Kulturanek is a program on modern and contemporary art, prepared by the team of educators from the Museum of Art in Łódź. Each of the 22 episodes raises a different issue. One is about the process of abstraction, the other is about modern sculpture, and the other is about works of art that are only an activity. None of them is a lecture. The programs are filled with workshop activities that each viewer can repeat. They are ready-made recipes for workshops, using artistically the simplest elements of everyday life, such as a piece of paper, a string, an iron, to be repeated at home, in a kindergarten or school. The programmes show how everyday experience helps in contact with contemporary art and vice versa: how contemporary art helps to find one’s place in everyday life. “Kulturanek” argues that contact with art is not the privilege of a handful of talented or privileged people; it also proves that you can talk about art without using hermetic and incomprehensible terminology.
