Description:
In 1943, Stanisława Leszczyńska was arrested by the Gestapo and sent to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp together with her three children. There, she undergoes a terrible life trial. She becomes a midwife and in inhuman conditions, on the verge of exhaustion, takes 3000 deliveries without losing a single child. Her name, as one of the four most notable Polish women of the last millennium, is placed on the Chalice of Life and National Transformation submitted by Polish women at Jasna Góra monastery. What was the phenomenon of this extraordinary woman like? What was her strength? Why, even in the face of death, did she never lose faith in the meaning of what she was doing?
Film co-financed by the Lodz Film Fund in 2017.
