Description:

A war tale of Jewish artists fighting for survival with the only weapon available to them: music, theater, and film. They defend themselves against the Nazi apparatus of repression using a joke, cabaret performances, sketches, performances, songs and concerts. They organize them in concentration camps and ghettos. They fight for their lives, but above all – as they emphasize – for soul and dignity. The film recorded the statements of Volker Kühn (theater director), Jan Szurmiej (director, actor), Roy Kift (playwright, writer), Anna Hanusova-Flachova (witness, prisoner of Theresienstadt camp), Eva Herrmanova (witness, prisoner of Theresienstadt camp) ), Leopold Kozłowski (witness, prisoner of the Kurowice and Jaktorów camps). The film was co-financed by the Lodz Film Fund in 2010.
